Shaftesbury – All together better for disability
Shaftesbury is the UK’s largest Christian disability charity. Our belief is that every child, young person and adult with a disability deserves to live a life that truly adds up for them. This is at the heart of all we do.
Every day, Shaftesbury provides disability care, special education and rehabilitation to people with disabilities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We help people to get the most out of life and support more than 1,000 people each year, providing person-centred, flexible support across a range of residential, nursing care, independent living support and community settings.
We run a wide range of services, including our accredited special education centres which provide specialised learning and creates opportunities for students with disabilities, aged 3 to 25 to develop life and work skills. We also have a brain injury rehabilitation centre and a new memory and dementia helpline for people in Suffolk.
Our vision, all together better for disability, is about working alongside the people with disabilities we support to establish a barrier-free society so they can live independently, access essential support, participate and contribute and be valued for who they are.
